Traceability and Assembly Country of Origin |
Each production lot is allocated a unique date code
The following information is relevant to date codes from 1997
For production lots assembled in our factory in Lutterworth, UK, the date code is made up of the next available double batch letters (lots are loaded as - first lot in a week letters "AA", second lot in a week letters "AB" etc.), then the year (e.g. 08), then the week number (e.g. 24) from the Semelab factory calendar and finally a die manufacturer code letter/number
e.g. AB0824Y
AB - any two letter prefix identifies the production lot as being built in Lutterworth, UK, and has an assembly Country of Origin as 'UK'
08 - Year of assembly
24 - Week of assembly
Y - Last suffix code letter/number identifies the origin of the die used in the assembly (in this example Y indicates Semefab die used). Code letter/number meanings are available on request
For production lots assembled by a sub-contractor, the date code is made up next available single batch letter (lots are loaded as - first lot in the week "A", second lot in the week "B" etc), then the year (e.g. 08), then the week number (e.g. 24) from the Semelab factory calendar, then an additional suffix code letter/number that identifies the assembly sub contractor, and finally a die manufacturer code letter/number
e.g. A0824BY (the letter B to identify subcontractor)
A - any single letter prefix identifies the production lot as being built by a sub-contractor
08 - Year of assembly
24 - Week of assembly
B - Initial suffix code letter/number identifies the assembly subcontractor and thus the assembly Country of Origin. Code letter/number meanings are available on request
Y - Last suffix code letter/number identifies the origin of the die used in the assembly (in this example Y indicates Semefab die used)
Code letter/number meanings are available on request. The code letters/numbers are stored and maintained on the company database by production control
